Mark "Muleman" Massey

  • Born in Clarksdale, MS, and lives on a farm in Senatobia, MS

  • Learned to play the MS Hill Blues from David Kimbrough in the Parchman Prison Band

  • Schooled by Blind Mississippi Morris in the rich legacy of the blues masters

  • Honored as the youngest white bluesman on the Mississippi Blues Trail Marker located at the front gates of Parchman Farm Mississippi State Penitentiary

  • Won the Mississippi Delta Blues Society of Indianola Regional Blues Challenge in 2011 with his Band and in 2022 for Solo/Duo, going on to compete in the International Blues  Challenge in Memphis

  • Appears in a Library of Congress documentary Music of North Mississippi Hill Country: Mark “Muleman” Massey and in Parchment Farms

  • Performed in Switzerland, Netherlands, and Holland

  • Has two albums: Mississippi Lockdown and One Step Ahead of the Blues, with a third being released in 2024

  • Played in the BSCP Virtual Jam on July 16, 2020, and December 24, 2020.
